Hog Project

One of our biggest projects in Talawanda is our Hog Project. Hogs are a great resource to have, because they can reproduce very easily, and they are also a great source of meat which is very scarce in our area.

One of the first things that we had to do, was build a nice hog pen, one that can both keep them safe, and be easily maintained as well as protect them from the elements.

Funny enough, as you can see in the picture on the left, our location is so remote, that whenever we have to buy a hog, they must be transported by motorcycle to our property.

These hogs are a very unique business opportunity, this provides us a way to help financially support our other projects but also the members of our community. There are many local vendors and stores that could make use of these hogs.
